Pasture monitoring Paneveggio Park

Mountain pasture monitoring using satellite data. The goal of this use case is using satellite remote sensing data to calculate Spectral Vegetation Indices changes across different years or during the same mountain pasture season, providing useful information for a more sustainable pasture management.

The following Spectral Vegetation Indices (SVIs) time series are available from 2017 to 2022 in the summer period (from June to September) with an image every 5 days:

  1. Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI)

  2. Normalized Difference Vegetation Index green (NDVIg)

  3. MERIS Terrestrial Chlorophyll Index (MTCI)

  4. Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI)

  5. RENDVI865.705

  6. SVIs temporal change between close dates of the same year and between a given date

  7. SVIs anomalies (change between a given date and a multi-year series avg)

True color images, False color images (useful for qualitative analysis) and Copernicus Scene Classification (SCL) are also available for the same period .
