A spatially distributed dataset describing the meteorological drought regime over the Ofanto River Basin. All the variables are derived from the time series analysis of the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) over multiple accumulation periods ranging between 1 and 12 months. The dataset describes the average features of the drought events detected over a fixed period
